1. Market Risk: One of the main sources of financial risk is market risk, which arises from the uncertainty of financial markets. Market risk can be broadly categorized into two types: systematic and unsystematic risk.

• Systematic risk, also known as market-wide risk, is the risk that affects all companies and assets in a given market or economy. It cannot be diversified away and is largely uncontrollable. Examples of systematic risk include interest rate risk, inflation risk, and currency exchange rate risk.
• On the other hand, unsystematic risk, also known as specific risk, is the risk that is unique to a particular company or asset. Examples of unsystematic risk include regulatory risk, business risk, and financial risk.
